Weekend Update

In my typical fashion I awoke WAY too early Saturday morning. Rather than wake Chris up, I decided....I would bejewel some dresses! Mom picked these up for me at a shop down in EG and I was able to go from liking....to loving them. I used 6mm swarovski crystals with my hotfix bejeweler and just let my creativity go. I actually found this a harder project than some of my others based on the lack of obvious crystal placement. The blue dress is still a work in process, but you can see the before and after on the lower right corner. Really an easy and fun project!

I decided to do a makeup collage on my two eye looks from this weekend. On Saturday night Chris and I went to downtown Sacramento and had dinner at Lucca Restaurant. From there we met up with Kristi and Kelly and headed to Art Second Saturday. Having lived in the area my whole life I had never gone. It was a really nice evening. Ended up wearing the turquoise and purple shown in the pics on that night. Sunday was an 18-mile run (wait till I blog on this....comedy to say the least) and definitely a hat day, so the pink and purple eye makeup was Sunday. I also had a hair and brow wax appointment and my brows were out of control :) **There is one photo of Kristi's eye in this collage...can you spot it?**

Taste the Rainbow

Playing with my new makeup from Calypso Minerals. Please forgive the lazy effort here with the liner (top/bottom and water line). I did this tonight after work, and truly was not completely into it. Need to work on packing my colors a bit more, but I am pretty pleased with my blending. There are 6 colors here from inner to outer: (top) Lolita, Tango, Bandana, Madness, (lower) Tramp and True Blue. Brow highlight is Twighlight which is a purpley-pink duochrome.

I'm learning

My adventures in makeup make me super excited for the weekend. I meticulously plot and plan out my eyes lately and it has been a lot of fun to finally really LEARN something new to me. This look went along with a sherbert-ish dress. My main disappointment was with the aqua in my crease. I tried a maybelline perle that I just could not darken enough. In hindsight I probably should have put down a darker base to grab the color. Oh well, lesson learned. I am seemingly obsessed with yellow at the moment as I used it as a lid color twice this weekend! Hopefully I will start documenting my forays into makeup better and get to share this way with my makeup role model.....Kristi. Thanks for helping inspire me Kristi! xoxo
