Sadly the football season came to an official end yesterday with Mom's Green Bay Packers losing in the playoffs. It was a sad loss. So, instead of actually watching the Superbowl for the game, we will be watching for the commercials :)
My work towards the half marathon has never *truly* ended.....but today I went ahead with a 10 mile run. In terms of training that puts me well ahead and technically prepared to run the half next weekend. I really enjoy watching the dark morning turn into the rest of the day before my eyes. I find it pretty powerful to be out at a time when so many others are not out. I get to watch the moon disappear and the sun rise......breathtaking. For months I go on my long run up to Catta Verdera which is high enough on the hill to look down towards dowtown Sacramento on one side and the foothils on the other side. It is very pretty and silent....an enjoyable moment for sure.
I find myself today on day 2 of Chris' 48. Yesterday was easy....got to watch the football game with the family and get chores done before hand. However, now....there is not much for me to do today. I have so much I would *like* to do, but often it involves spending money or taking on a project a little too big for one person. I think sometimes I need to allow myself to just sit....grab a book....and escape into a it, rather than trying to *accomplish* something.
Alas, the goal for today might just be to sit back and let the day unfold. We'll see how it goes :)
