Time for some honesty.....

This is the next piece I am considering. This is merely a stencil of what Heidi has drawn up for me, so it by no means would do the artistry of the piece any justice.......I will withhold my current thoughts, so as NOT to influence the opinions you all might have.

Leave me a comment.....let me know your BRUTALLY HONEST opinion.

Also, to answer a few questions about the rib location for a tattoo and the "pain factor". I cannot say that it does not hurt, that would be a lie. However, I can say that when getting a larger piece it is really interesting to feel how different parts of your body respond. When tattooing towards my tummy, it seriously tickled and I could have laughed out loud! On the other hand, as the tattoo extends over my ribs.....it is the most bizarre vibratory sensation in the BONES, it is strange. Finally, as the tattoo wraps around towards my mid back, nothing short of just good old fashion.....PAIN :D

Heh, I don't know if I should be considered for a brutally honest opinion... When I look at you I see this beautiful woman and knowing you have some pretty amazing tattoos is an interesting twist. However, it seems your biggest ones are hidden, and would only be seen when you want them to be seen. The newest potential tattoo seems to be (at least to me) a little over the top for such a pretty and totally classy lady. It's one thing to have a few super cute ankle tattoos, but a whole calf tat might be a little excessive.

I come from a strange point of view though. My mom had two tattoos when I was growing up. Obviously the ink was not as good as the quality of ink used today, but 10 years after she got them, she hated them and has had them removed. Expcept when she had them removed she used the old style lazer, so now she has burns on her shoulder and arm.

I guess for me, it's fun to see them on other people and think about what I might get, the reality is I'll never do it. Especially after watching my mom. I went the other route and got piercings, my most altering one was my eyebrow piercings (which has since been removed - i knew it was going to be short lived!). But I still have the million holes in my ears for when I want to wear them.

Ultimately, as you already know :o) it's a personal decision, well and that of your hubby!

Erin, you know I'm always up for more tatoos but I think you should be able to hide them if you want to.
You are beautiful and classy and this tatoo is too big.Isn't it possible to paint it a little smaller on your ankle?
But in the end its your choice.Trust your timmy-feeling!!!!

Hmmmm. I'm totally on board with the idea, but there is something about it that seems a little un-lady-like. I think maybe it just feels too big? Of course, they could always look different once they are arted.

Have you seen the little wings Nicole Richie has on her shoulder blades? Super dainty. Too small for a calf, but a different feel entirely.

Okay, so what are YOU thinking about it? That's really the only important opinion on the matter. :)
