Confessions.....

1. I started running outside again about 2 months ago. I was only going when Chris was home, but just this week I ran 3 mornings outside with my phone and pepper spray strapped on my belt, so I am at least running "smarter". However....this brings me to #2.

2. I am deathly afraid of snakes. The route I run is infested (well not really, but I think so) with snakes. It is not some rural road, but I often see the remnants of snakes that are hit by the landscapers or cars (I assume). This week I saw my first LIVING/MOVING snake, it was like it was racing me, I squealed and ran like a freak (again, not the first time!). I am glad I run in the dark and no one sees me freaking out like this. Usually they are black and yellow striped so harmless. However, today the snake was brown (of course, automatically I assume brown snakes to be rattle snakes...plus it makes for a scarier story, hehehe) and coiled neatly and ALIVE just laying in the gutter. Again, I shouted (not an expletive thankfully), jumped sideways mid-run and looked back incessantly as though a bear or something was behind me....just in time to see another runner. I have seen this guy before....he always waves, never responds when I say "Good Morning". After seeing the snake I thought I would alert him and his pet (he runs with a dog) of the impending doom.....I said my usual Good Morning, made eye contact and said....ridiculously "Just an FYI, there is a pretty good sized snake in the......." Progress to #3 for explanation.....

3. I have word finding difficulties. So, I made a big deal to share my snake information and talk to this runner who has never responded....only to have a brain fart and NOT say where the snake was. Normally I would be mortified (well, I still am slightly) at my "lost word". However, I realized today that he wears headphones when he runs. I am now *hoping* he did not hear me and his dog was not eaten by the snake :P

4. I think I am in love with the new master bed and bath. It is dark and cool and I have been just sitting in the bed with jazz on and reading the last few nights. Our room has become my significant other while Chris is gone.....well, it helps that there is a TV too and I can watch the millions of DVR'ed episodes of Sex and The City as well ;P
