I can't stop grinning

Today I got to use my new toy at work. It is called LiteGait and it is a body-weight supported training device. Essentially it allows those who would otherwise not walk, or walk VERY poorly with assistance from a device and a therapist. One thing you will hear most PT's say...."I wish I had another set of hands" and this machine helps make that happen.
This particular piece of equipment has SAT in a closet un-used at the Sacramento clinic for years. I had several people in mind to use it with, but most importantly I wanted to use it for my corrections officer who was shot....I have been worried that he is too big (6'4", 250#'s) for the unit and for me to make it work with both of his legs being paralyzed.
Today I had him in the unit and he did great. I was really pumped and am still grinning ear to ear with being able to provide this type of therapy. I will be working with him 2 days a week on standing and attempts at assisted walking.....
He wants to be on my "wall of fame" for being the first patient of mine to walk again after a spinal cord injury......I am going to do everything within my power to provide him that opportunity, but time and neuroplasticity will decided....
