Although my hubby was home today....he stayed in the warm bed as I ventured out for the last of my runs before Sunday. Being alone on a run is bittersweet....it is one part of running that I love.....just me and the road.
A friend from grad school gave me this quote:
"There is an ending of sorrow in aloneness"
Most people who read it don't like it or agree, but there is something about acceptance of being alone and embracing it rather than running from it....
Anyhow, back to the point.
So, my route currently has me running by a man made pond in the retirment community near us. It is always peaceful and quiet and I can usually hear the geese or ducks flying around in the dark. However, this morning....it sounded like someone did a cannonball into the pond. The mind is funny. I quickly scanned the "what could it be options"......
Bigfoot? The Lockness Monster? The Creature from the Blue Lagoon?
Seriously, where my mind comes up with this stuff I do not know.
I scanned the area with my head lamp and saw nothing but the water rippling from whatever it was that went into the water. Oh well. Luckily I happened upon another lone runner which distracted me enough to not be worried that the water monster would come and get me :)
One nice full day of work to go.....until we are Seattle bound!
Anaconda?
