Welcome 2009

Here it is, the very first day of a brand New Year.
I've come up with my training plan for Napa Valley Marathon and am excited to be on the road to the next challenge. The main differences of my new plan are, 1)longer/more frequent long runs at slower pace, 2) speed work, tempo runs, 3) rest/cross-training days off. I am a bit nervous as this new plan has 3 rest/cross-training days built into the schedule. I am trying to decide what my cross training will be. Potentially I will be jumping back on the bike.
I am pretty excited to say that I slept in until 630 this morning....and didn't even stay up past 10.....as depressing as it may be, I was in heaven.
Chris and I started the year doing a 10K this afternoon and I ran at my "new pace" as dictated by the training plan. We talked the whole time and it was just an enjoyable run. Chris is off to work the next few days so I will be doing my first long run at 12 miles Sunday on my own.

Here's to 2009!

Oh and.....I may be trying a new product.....the CamelBak Women's RacePak. (Thanks Poppa Bear) If I do opt for it.....watch for reviews as you all know I love to do those :)
