.....She's got big thoughts
big dreams.....
I am having one of *those* mornings. I cried at the end of Biggest Loser this morning.....seeing the husband and wife finish a marathon together....I was done for.
I had a thought while watching the Biggest Loser, rare, I know :P
So, what if there was a show like TBL that featured people with spinal cord injury. I got a wee bit mad thinking about this. There are overweight people all over the US, there are gyms and trainers and diets out there....tons of them. But what is there for people with spinal cord injury, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis or stroke? Medical insurance doesn't cover this type of treatment for catastrophic injury.....so I wondered how that would play out on TV?
Would people watch?
At any rate, this might be a little peek into the freaking somersaults, back flips and twirls my brain (and stomach for that matter) is doing.
At this point, it IS going to rain on marathon day. I just have to accept it, pre-plan the best I can. I am likely to start mental imagery and practice the next few days for preparation. Ran my last tempo (6 miles, 4@ 7:52) this morning, with a light drizzle and a head wind, and I opted for hills. It was rough, but I ♥ seeing my time dip below 7 minutes per mile, especially on a tough run. It's exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time. Ended up finishing with overall 7:32 pace. Essentially the work is done......one more run tomorrow, a short 3-miler. The taper is trying to take hold of my head.....gonna keep fighting, looking at the weeks of training logs and remember that I have done the prep work.....Napa here I come.
