I had a running weekend. Literally.
18 miles on Saturday morning followed by a short 3 mile run with Chris in the afternoon. Overall, no complaints!
Sunday Chris had to work so I ran off in the morning to get errands done before a hair appointment at 11 and hoped I'd make it home to catch the SuperBowl.
Don't think I've mentioned my love of Nugget Market in my blog.....but I rarely go, just for convenience issues. However, Sunday I was in the area so I went. I've loved discovering that it really is not drastically different than the average supermarket in terms of how much I spend
......however.....
I am weird with apples.....I eat an apple a day at lunch and I ♥ Fuji's as they are nice and big and juicy. So I am browsing for apples that meet my standards at Nugget.....I literally stood and looked at all the apples for 5 minutes or more....and settled on some Washington Honeycrisps, which I knew were pricey, but figured it wouldn't be too bad. Plus, I did not want to be THAT lady who shops at multiple markets each week.
While standing at the checkout I saw $15.80 as the total for my 7 apples. I nearly fainted.
The irony is that when I got home I discovered I forgot celery, which means I would need to go to another store after all. ugh. I am protesting and will go without celery this week just to spite the fact.
So, at lunch as I took my first bite of my pricey apple, dare I say....it's worth it!

We know how to grow them up here :)
Jason and I like to make our own applesauce just about every week, and i've found Braeburn apples are fantastic for it! And then, every week my classmates have to giggle at Lindsay and her homemade applesauce. :P
Hugs
