Cause We Are Living in a Material World....

I was lucky enough to spend nearly the whole day Saturday with Kristi and the morning with the Hall family. Elk Grove's Western Festival Parade was rained on, but the parade was dedicated to Bryan and in his honor....so we all braved it with our umbrellas.
During dinner last night Kristi and I got to talk and talk about.....everything. She talked about a project she did with her 6th grade class and I can't stop thinking about it, so I am gonna share.
Each student was to identify and share 3 of their most valued possessions and share why. The possessions were not allowed to be people....but things.....
So here is my challenge.....name yours. Here goes mine, in no particular order...
1) Pearl necklace/earrings/bracelet added to over the years by Mom and Dad. The most recent was the bracelets which were given to me by my Dad for the wedding.
2) The tennis bracelet that was given to me by my Grandpa after Grandma passed. I can still envision it on her arm next to her charm bracelets.
3) My wedding ring. Speaks for itself.
I am including a 4th, why...cause I make the rules :P NO really....when Kristi and I were talking the thought was....what would you grab if the house were on fire and you had to get out.
4) I have a shoebox full of special cards/letters/etc. and there are several cherished ones from Ma/Pa, Bubba, Chris and even some that I can look at when I want to remember Grandma's unique handwriting....etc. that would be a must have for me.
Thanks for the idea Kristi!

Oooh I love this. I might have to take on this challenge. . .because I've actually had to grab my most precious things because of a fire. LOL! So I KNOW what I'd grab. . .

Hmm, my 3 possessions that aren't allowed to be people and I assume pets that we typically think as people hehe!

1)My stippled and etched pictures of my brother that I did in high school (they are next to each other - so I'm counting it as one)
2) Our file box that has all our important documents, back up of all our pictures, emergency cash, passports, etc.
3) Our kitty Gus Gus's urn.
4) Little foot - my childhood stuffed animal that I still sleep with today.

I always have my wedding ring on so that's not something I would worry about. I think it would be most difficult leaving all our art work behind (we decorate our home with Jason's photography and my artwork).

:D
