My Poppa Bear

As a child you know your parents are amazing. As a teenager you start to forget. As an adult you are graciously reminded just how amazing they are each and every day. There are memories of my Dad that I can close my eyes and re-live. Those memories are more valuable than gold.
One of my favorites is the year I went on my Dad's annual hunting trip to Idaho. We sang along to our favorite Garth Brooks TAPE as we drove the big red truck through the desert of Nevada. We stopped at a truck stop and I came away with snacks and an obnoxious pair of $5 sunglasses, which only added to out non-stop karaoke of Lonesome Dove, Friends in Low Places and The Dance. I ate "The Big Buck Special" at a truck stop for breakfast, saw my first bear....and rolled down my first hill on that trip (another story altogether).
I have other favorites...be it his trip back to Georgia for our softball nationals, him walking me down the aisle and fixing my veil, his homemade smoked cheese and mango salsa, or taking me to see my favorite deer 'Bucky' on an early morning river trip.....there are so many.
I cannot say enough about him......especially growing up, as he did, without a Father in his life....he is pretty amazing.
Love You Poppa Bear!
