On February 10th, overlooking Kerry Park, my brother Tommy got down on a knee to propose to Lindsey. He had called to let us know about his ring shopping and even seen pictures, but the moment the phone call came in it suddenly became real. The sound of Lindsey's voice was enough to make anyone smile, you could FEEL her excitement over the phone. It was such a wonderful moment to share.
With the news of Tommy & Lindsey's engagement.....I couldn't help but think back....
I was only five, yet I was filled with so many new feelings and emotions that I didn't quite understand.
When they brought me in the room to see him, all the feelings just ceased to be.
Because when I saw the tiny body Mom was holding, I knew exactly what I was supposed to do.
That day I was given a role that changed my life forever: 'Big Sister'
I am now the big sister, how my life changed so much in that one moment.
I now have someone to take care of and love.
I have someone to follow me around and someone to taunt my friends.
I have someone to fight with and get in trouble with.
I have someone to tell my secrets to and someone who will laugh with me.
I now have someone to grow up with and no matter how many fights we get in or how far we are apart,
We'll always be Brother & Sister.
I look to the future knowing I will now be given a new role as a 'Sister-in-law' and couldn't imagine being any happier for my Brother and his Bride-to-be.

Such a beautiful story...
I know how many times you asked for a baby sister and was worried about bringing you in to meet your baby brother! You took to him immediately and indeed have been the big sister you were born to be.
I do have questions about these secrets between you two, however... HA!!!
