Nerves

Am I dreaming? Am I awake? I've yet to dream about Boston....actually, I rarely have running dreams. I have been doing ok, trying to keep the nerves in check. I ran 3 miles Monday and Tuesday morning and today is the first day this week I am not running.
I can feel it. I can actually feel my skin crawling.
Bizarre.
Tomorrow will be my last run before Boston. Luckily it is a tempo run, maybe I can run the nerves out of my system.
Tonight though, we pack.
Last night I got out my trusty Asics Nimbus 12, put in my new inserts and just looked at those shoes. They will carry me 26 miles 385 yards from Hopkinton to Boston.
That's it....the shoes and me.
This isn't something new. I have done this before.
My brain knows how, my legs know how.
I know all my posts are running related lately, but my brain is literally a wash with Boston thoughts. Blogging seems to slow it down, allow me to purge the thoughts.
What will the weather be? Will I get to athlete's village in time? Will I remember everything? How will I run? Will I start slow enough? Will the hills get to me? Will I be calm on the flight? Will my luggage arrive?
ENOUGH.
Where is the off switch for this brain of mine!?!?!

Stick your running shorts and your shoes in your carry-on. Luggage snafus be damned! You're going to do SO great!

I agree with Vicki. It would be a good idea to carry your running gear in a carry-on as you are arriving only a couple of days before the race. AND I also agree that you are going to do so GREAT! Well said Vicki.
