Chris and I took our first 'real' roadtrip this past weekend up to Seattle for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and for Chris to see Tommy and Lindsey's home. We set out on Thursday morning and although the drive was long, we found the time together enjoyable and it actually went fairly quick. Early Friday morning Mom and Dad arrived and Tommy and Lindsey had a housefull, including Bella! After visiting the expo on Friday we ate an awesome pre-race meal at Kimberly's (Lindsey's mom) place with an amazing view of Seattle. We got home and got the racers all ready and prepared for an early start Saturday morning. After dropping the racers off at the start line Dad, Tommy and I ventured to a spot along the course to cheer them on. It was bittersweet to be on the 'other side' of a race. I wanted so badly to be out there, but knew I was making the right choice to improve my recovery. We were lucky to spot all of our runners at Mile 6 and surprised each of them with special signs and clanked our cowbells wildly.
