Yet another SURPRISE!

After a DOOZY of a weekend celebrating Kristi's birthday and then engagement we had another fun-filled weekend planned! First, we attended the first dance recital of our niece Tiernan. It was SO darling. The dancers were all ages, but the littlest ballerina's were the CUTEST. Tiernan was a "happy little clown" and it was just so cute. We had scheduled an ultrasound appointment that Saturday evening as we were officially over 16 weeks and ready to find out if we would be painting the nursery pink or blue =)

I had quite a bit of anxiety as we drove over.....knowing I would be happy with anything as long as the baby looked healthy and happy. Little did I(we) know what we were in for that day. After some particulars the sonographer had me lie down and the show began. After identifying various anatomical landmarks she paused at the legs and allowed us to make guesses....we were clueless. Her cursor went over the screen and she typed out "GIRL". I thought I was going to fall off the table. We grinned with excitement (Chris called it all along....should always listen to my hubby's gut instinct!)

The ultrasound continued and it was the MOST amazing thing we have ever seen. We got to watch our little peanut move her arms and explore her mouth and face with her hand. We saw her stretch out her legs and cross her legs and roll over! We walked out with a DVD copy and still photos of our little one....I've never felt more connected to her.

We did have plans that night as well....to drive to Lake Tahoe to spend a day and evening with the newly engaged couple =)

On our way up our minds were racing, we talked all about 'her' so very much and suddenly everything felt so real. We decided to stop at the store for some items for Kristi....saran wrap, plastic bags....and I threw in a small package of pink, lavender, yellow hair bows and left them in the bag for Kristi to find......when she did.....there was a scream of excitement like no other.

I can close my eyes and see her expression of pure joy!

What a thrilling way to tell 'Aunt Tete' the news.

Since then it has been a roller coaster of showing 'her' off with her DVD and making phone calls. It's all too surreal but SO amazing. We look at her snapshots constantly and watch the DVD relentlessly, we know her every move. Now we are patiently waiting to FEEL her move =)

Our next peek at her will be June 29th....so stayed tuned for updates!
