Pregnancy Update- Week 26

Today we are official 25 weeks 4/7 days and my how things are changing. My once slightly rounded belly is now unmistakable as a pregnant belly. I have worn baggy-ish shirts and gone undetected for quite sometime. However, I was 'outed' yesterday by a checker from the local grocery store! She was shocked and was in disbelief we were already 6 months into this journey. Quite honestly, so are Chris and I!

My belly button has not officially committed to becoming an 'outie' but it's growing closer each day. My feeties and toes are doing a lovely job of swelling by the end of the day to resemble party sausages. My leg cramps have now officially caused me to wake 3 times. Our utter joy when BGV (baby girl Vestal) moves never gets old. I swear every time causes an audible "oh" or "wow" out of me, as though each time is a total surprise. I wish there were words to describe feeling her move. I suppose anyone who has been pregnant will tell you, it is life....inside you.

Bizarre.

Awe-inspiring.

Unbelievable.

We are making fabulous progress on the nursery and I am glad we started when we did as my belly continues to bloom. Her walls are painted, chair-rail installed, crib, dresser/changer and storage shelves assembled, curtains hung, chandelier hung, electrical coverings 'upholstered', clothing hung, socks put in drawers, diaper stacker sewn and ultrasound photo framed. Every day we spend a little time in there, odd as it may seem I feel closer to her in that room. I know she is always with me, but for some reason I am at peace in what will be her space.

We continue to play music or sing for her every night (well I hum, don't want to scare her with my voice) and hope she will love music as we do and it will bring her comfort in her early days.

I am still running 2-3 days per week up to 4 miles, monitoring heart rate and just enjoying being out there. I always said I would run through my pregnancy (before being pregnant) and continue to enjoy it....so I will press on as long as she and my body allow it.

Medical appointments have all been up to speed, nothing really too exciting except we have all our appointments booked until 11/7.....a short 13 days before her delivery date! Crazy to look at the calendar and know we only have 4 more MD appts until she is set to arrive!

Favorite foods

Pizza, Mexican food (chips, salsa, guacamole mostly), fresh fruit, lemonade, french toast. Just found out last night...brownies!

Cravings

Putting chocolate frosting on homemade banana chocolate bread, brownies, sushi, milkshakes

Having trouble eating

Still struggling with nuts (except walnuts), broccoli (I can do it but it isn't easy)

Feeling life is THE.MOST amazing sensation one can experience; aside from bringing that life into the world :-) ♥ ♥

I'm so glad to hear pregnancy is treating you well and you get to enjoy every moment! We enjoyed it as well, but there was always a bit of worry, especially since I was at OB and perinatologist appointments weekly from 20 weeks on :( But I also was fortunate that I got to see our lil Kailyn every week too!

Can't wait to see BGV's nursery!!!
