The transformation of what used to be our 'workout/storage' room has been a long time coming. Back in the beginning of 2011 Chris and I knew we were hoping to grow our family.....and wanted to start cleaning out 'the room'. Along came the opportunity for us to host Tommy for a night for his bachelor party and we had the perfect excuse to change the dynamics of the room, without anyone knowing the *real* reason.
When we found out we were having a little princess, I started searching for bedding on the internet. I knew I wanted something custom and had a generic color scheme in mind. I found an amazing custom sewer out of New York who runs
www.modpeapod.com and after much discussion and searching Chris and I placed the order. We anxiously awaited the delivery, as it was custom it took nearly 8 weeks and ended up arriving exactly 3 days before the baby shower!
Once we found the bedding...the rest of the room just took shape.

We found this cute little storage unit at Target, easy to assemble and so functional with the bins for easy storage. The headband holders were homemade by yours truly (pub mix containers covered in damask fabric).

Chris and I saw this sign at a baby boutique in Roseville that happened to be going out of business, so we got a great deal on it!

This is baby girl's homemade mobile. I used a needlepoint ring, covered it with pink tool and used fishing line to create the 'tails'. I glued the cardstock cutouts of crowns and fleur de lis to the line and used heavier 'bling' at the end of each piece to create some weight to keep the fishing line straight (after ironing several times!) I finished it with pink statin ribbon to attach it to the ceiling and a pink tool with black and white ribbon at the tippy top.

This will be baby girl's dresser. It came in a set with her crib and was lightened up by some pink drawer pulls I found at Lowe's. Her blinged paci's and crib shoes are ready for her along with her piggy bank.

This shot includes her hamper and her chandelier along with her crib. The chandelier really puts the cap on the 'french' feel to her colors and patterns =)

Baby Girl Vestal has a growing closet! Complete with a small shoe rack underneath and plenty of clothes to get her started!

This shot shows her curtains, which I was able to make. A nice, quick project. We used a double rod for blackout curtains behind the cotton polka dot print I used. The tabs are pink cotton and finished with a satin bow at each tab. The bottom side is finished with a pre-made satin ruffle.

Here is her crib and bedding! We bought the polka dot crib sheet separate and it luckily matches perfectly! Her diaper stacker is hanging on the right side (which I made from an internet pattern). I used the same satin ruffle to adorn the top and bottom as well as the polka dot fabric from her curtains. The opening is finished with a 2" wide satin ribbon which I used as a hem/binding. Once we name her, I will applique her first initial on the top =)

Last but not least, this is me at the wonderful baby shower my Mom and best friend Kristi hosted. This shot also shows all her hair bows on the "glamourous" sign which I found at TJ Maxx and added the vertical ribbons to display her bows. Between Kristi and I, she should have enough hair bows for at least the first year
