Where were you when the World stopped turning?

This weekend is set to mark the 10th Anniversary of the tragedy we know as 9/11. On that date 10 years ago our World changed. I suppose those before us would look back at Pearl Harbor and December 7th much the way will will look back at this day. Watching it unfold on the television and over the coming weeks I never really thought it would impact ME. The changes in security at the airports, no big deal. The increased vigilence and awareness, no big deal.

But standing by and watching your best friend and her family lose her Brother, their Son, now that is a different story.

It was September 11th 2001 that took Bryan to April 10th 2009.

On that day he and 4 men in his batallion gave their lives for our safety.

I guess it is hard to realize the gravity of what that day has meant for so many families.

To memorialize those lost at Ground Zero Chris and I will be participating in the 9/11 Memorial Run/Walk and Climb along with our families.

Chris will climb 110 flights of stairs (the same as the World Trade Centers) in full turn out gear while wearing the name plate of one of the 343 firefighters lost that day.

Each runner/walker will carry a flag with a name of a life lost at Ground Zero.

It will be a somber day.

However, we will also be thinking of the Hall Family.

We will be thinking of Bryan and all the brave soldiers and heroes who will never come home.

9/11/01.

Never Forget.

I do believe that in addition to al of the lives lost on September 11th, 2001 we must recognize the lives lost because of that day...

What an honor it was to participate in the ceremonies surrounding the Firefighter stair climb and to run the 5k along with our family! Such a special way to commemorate the day.
