Thursday could have been the longest day of my life. I went to work having packed quite a bit on Wednesday night and knew it would mentally be tough to power through work.
We ended up arriving at the airport plenty early for our midnight flight to NY. We managed to snooze off and on and get a decent amount of sleep before landing at JFK. There was enough time to scarf down some breakfast before our short flight into Boston. Arriving was surreal....there were Marathon signs at the airport and you could spot the mass of runners throughout the place.
The air was cold and we could spot our breath as we waited for our shuttle to the water taxi which dropped us at the back of our hotel and we met Bubba and Linds in the lobby. After a quick trip to drop bags and freshen up we hit a local financial district pub called, The Times. By then a cold drizzle started and we figured it best to hit the Expo and secure bib numbers for the upcoming races.
The Boston Marathon Expo is insanity. Walking in to provide my confirmation and show ID I was handed a packet that seemed to emit a glow.....my yellow bib number in all her glory. The numbers 14214 emblazoned on the bib and I was quickly handed a neon yellow bag and asked what shirt size....huh? what? I was still in a fog gazing at my bib.
Waking Saturday morning I knew it would be special....this would be the day we saw a game at Fenway!

and special it was!!!
To see the excitement on Bubba's face seeing THE Green Monstah in person was priceless. To see the joy in your eyes knowing that you made this possible was truley amazing...
THANK YOU!!
