Favorite Things, May Edition

May presented me with some unique challenges. For the first time in over 5 years I am unable to run. An injury has sidelined me and caused me to look at things from a new perspective, a definite shift in paradigm.

Faith. I chose this as a favorite this month as this word has taken on new meaning. In my line of work, particularly in the neurologic population, my patients do not truly 'get better'. They improve, they change, but typically they have a life altering experince that changes their bodies. I was all too quick to feel that, I too, would never return to normal. I've had great friends and family supporting me and reminding me to keep the faith and trust that I WILL run again.

Construction. This epic piece was taken from Fashion Week, Dior's Fall 2010 collections. As I explore my creativity in my down time from running I am beyond impressed by the construction of this gown. I imagine this model was stiched/laced INTO this dress, but none the less it is stunning.

Sex and The City 2. I have waited and waited for this movie and last Friday I got to go see it with my Kristi. We saw the first one together and have not forgotten one shoe, dress, purse or piece of jewelry from that first movie. We were amped and ready for a new fix and loved every minute. No, the plot and story may not have been stellar, but seeing the groups of women out together to see this movie....along with the fabulous fashions was heart warming.

Ice Breakers Sours. Yes, you have seen this candy on my favorites before....but not the Tropical version. These delicious sugary treats are a rare find. I was able to snap up the only package at a gas station in Folsom and I was all too excited! Did I mention they are sugar-free (i.e. guilt free!)

Studio Secrets. I saw this product in a magazine a few months back and it had the tiniest dollop as a sample. I spread it onto the back of my hand and couldn't believe the coverage and the smooth texture. I had to hunt for it at a few local stores, but have added it to my daily arsenal. If you are looking for a skin smoothing product as a base for foundation, powder, etc. this stuff is great and SO inexpensive compared to the 'bigger label' options.
