32 weeks-Pregnancy Update

Here we are at another pregnancy milestone, 32 weeks....the unofficial, official mark of the 8th month. It's funny how each pregnancy tracker shows the 8th month starting at different times...but for arguments sake, I can now claim I am in month 8with baby girl Vestal.
This has been an interesting time as my body continues to rapidly change. Probably the biggest change lately has been swelling otherwise known as edema. Taking my socks off at the end of a work day reveals a 'perma-sock' imprint on my calves and the wrinkles on my toes are being replaced with lovely amounts of swelling. It is not terrible, but is definitely a change. Getting my wedding ring off and on changes daily.

Another interesting change is my energy level/fatigue level. I am one pooped out girl these days. I first noticed it after the baby shower (yes, I know, I need a blog update on that....hopefully today) and 9/11 run weekend. A simple weekend event that would have been nothing to me in the past, suddenly had me begging for the alarm to shut off and let me sleep on Monday! I'm not sure I can say that I have caught up since then. Coming home from work involves eating dinner and immediately getting horizontal...a) for swelling relief and b) I am just plain tired.
I am set to continue working up to 36 weeks...so everyone think happy thoughts that I can make it. The growing size of my belly makes things a little more challenging but I am hoping that being at work will help pass the weeks and also keep my mind from counting down these last several weeks of pregnancy.
We are now down to single digits on weeks left until due date and officially 55 days until the due date. Time flies....but does it? Sometimes it seems I have been pregnant forever....

Thinking back to T&L's wedding, running Boston...it all seems an eternity ago.

Of course lastly, there are some happenings in the world of Baby Girl Vestal....she is a busy girl, let me tell you. She continually makes taking a daily 'kick count' pretty easy as she moves quite a lot. Sometimes I find myself actually asking her out loud, "What are you doing in there?"

I can say it is the most incredible thing to be able to interact with our little girl, even in such a small way already.

No real food cravings or aversions these days, pretty much the same 'ole with me.

Only issue is meal sizes are small and frequent as my tummy just can't handle bigger meals.

I have kept up my running at least 3 days a week and am going to keep trying, along with some cross training and weight lifting. I do have some pretty ambitious plans for my return to running, but I have not yet bit the bullet and registered.....

i wore (and still do) pretty good compression stalkings (http://www.legluxe.com/product/womens-tights/support-stockings/stockings-thigh-high/S0333B8) through my pregnancies and never had any edema, and honestly they just make my legs feel less tired at the end of the day :-)
